Poland's PM Donald Tusk to Visit India Next Month, Bolstering Economic, Political Ties

Poland's Prime Minister Donald Tusk is set to visit India from October 21 to 24. As part of efforts to bolster economic, political, and strategic ties between the two nations. This marks the first visit by a Polish head of government since 2010.

At that time, then-Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh's tenure was in place.

With Poland emerging as a significant player in European economies and a key player in the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Tusk's visit aims to strengthen cooperation in these areas. Tusk's background includes serving as President of the European Council from 2014 to 2019 and leading the European People’s Party from 2019 to 2022.

Preparations are underway for Tusk's trip, including visits to Delhi and Bangalore. This will be a reciprocal visit by Tusk, following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's official visit to Poland in August 2024. The visit marks a significant milestone in the bilateral relationship, which was established in 1979.

India and Poland have strengthened cooperation in defence and space sectors. With officials working towards concluding a series of outcomes in these areas during Tusk's visit. The Indian and Polish officials are also exploring cooperation and collaboration in developing port infrastructure.

India and Poland are poised to take their bilateral relationship to the next level. With a focus on concrete cooperation and collaboration in key sectors. As the visit approaches, officials are working to build on the progress made in recent years and establish a strong foundation for future cooperation.
