Google Fixes Reboot Issues in Android 17 QPR2 Beta 6 for Pixel Users

Google is pushing out Android 17 QPR2 Beta 6 to Pixel testers, aiming to resolve a range of crashes and unexpected reboots. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold experienced a reboot issue when trying to access the camera's viewfinder due to a third-party app.

This update follows the release of QPR2 Beta 5, which achieved Platform Stability just over a week ago.

Google has confirmed that all devices are synced up on build numbers. And eligible phones include the Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, and Pixel 10 series. The update brings version vCP41.260831.007, which is expected to address various issues.

The update includes fixes for a significant reboot issue on the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. This was a persistent problem for Pixel testers in the QPR2 Beta. Google has acknowledged the issue, stating that it occurred when initializing the camera viewfinder in third-party applications.

The fix is expected to alleviate the problems users have been experiencing.

Additionally, QPR2 Beta 6 offers a fix for a severe system kernel crash, which affected devices when a third-party app requested simultaneous camera and microphone access during biometric verification stages.

Google has made changes to the lock screen, removing blurred notifications. According to Mishaal Rahman, a Reddit user, the product team temporarily reverted the feature to fix some bugs.
