The Ministry of Railways has given approval for a new Vande Bharat Express train service connecting Gujarat with Rajasthan, marking another significant milestone in the expansion of India's rail network. This new semi-high speed train will run between Surat and Udaipur, offering passengers a convenient and comfortable journey through some of the most scenic regions of the country.

The Railway Board also approved the discontinuation of train numbers 26963/26964 Udaipur City-Asarva Vande Bharat Express, which was introduced in February 2026. This decision will have a significant impact on passengers who rely on this service, particularly those traveling between Ahmedabad and Udaipur City.

The Surat-Udaipur Vande Bharat Express train is expected to be a game-changer for the region, with its semi-high speed capabilities allowing it to cover a distance of approximately 690 km in just 07:30 hours. The train will have an 8-car coach composition and halt at nine railway stations during its journey between Surat and Udaipur City, including Bharuch, Vadodara, Anand, Maninagar, Asarva, Himmatnagar, Shamlaji Road, Dungarpur, and Zawar.

Passengers can look forward to a comfortable and convenient journey on the Surat-Udaipur Vande Bharat Express, with train number 26903 departing from Surat at 06:10 hours and reaching Udaipur City at 13:40 hours. In the return direction, train number 26904 will depart from Udaipur City at 15:35 hours and arrive at Surat at 23:00 hours.
