Two years after the release of the original film, which boasted a star-studded cast including Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan, the director has finally begun shooting for the follow-up.

At a recent promotional event in Hyderabad, Nag Ashwin was quizzed about the status of the sequel. He humorously recalled his earlier statement that planets needed to align before he could start filming, saying, "The planets have aligned and even taken a round.

So, we will begin shooting again when they align and can take another round." When asked for an update on the number of days shot and what's in store, Ashwin revealed that only 10 days had been captured so far.

Ashwin assured fans that once Prabhas is available, they will shoot in a long stretch. The director expressed his enthusiasm about working with Kamal Haasan again, whom he previously collaborated with in Giraftar. The two actors shared a heartwarming moment on set, which has left fans thrilled at the prospect of their reunion.

Prabhas, who starred alongside Deepika Padukone in the original film, is now gearing up for his next projects. He has three films lined up, including Hanu Raghavapudi's Fauzi and Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Spirit. The actor will also reprise his roles as Bhairava and Karna in the sequel to Kalki 2898 AD.

Meanwhile, Deepika Padukone is no longer associated with the film and has been replaced Alia Bhatt was also reportedly in talks for a role before being dropped from the project. Despite these changes, fans are eagerly awaiting the release of Kalki 2898 AD sequel, which promises to be just as epic as its predecessor.
