Shivam Shankar's modern Bhed, Bakri, Bhoot to release on Anurag Kashyap's Oh Short Flips platform

Short film Bhed, Bakri, Bhoot, directed by Shivam Shankar and produced by Ranjan Singh, is set to be released on September 24 on Anurag Kashyap's curated short-film YouTube channel, Oh Short Flips.

The film features Vandana Joshi, Prasanna Bisht, Apeksha Iyer, Naseem Mughal and Rishi Solanki, among others. According to Abhishek Chaubey, who co-produced the film with Navdeep Singh, "What I loved most about BBB is Shivam's modern approach to the narrative and the fact that it is so enjoyable, yet so disturbing."

Bhed, Bakri, Bhoot has been screened at several festivals. This includes the International Kurzfilmtage Winterthur, IFFSA Toronto, Tirana International Film Festival, Roma Short Film Festival, Tokyo International Short Film Festival, Yellowstone International Film Festival, and the Best of India Short Film Festival.

The film secured the Best Editing award at the Tokyo International Short Film Festival. The Best Short Film award at IIFSA Toronto and the Best Indian Short Film at YellowstoneBhed. Bakri, Bhoot is the third film to release on the Oh Short Flips platform.

Chaubey said he is sure the audience will like the film.

In a bizarre incident, a distraught musician took to a public restroom wall to express his anguish over a lost love. However, his emotional outpouring soon transformed into a sprawling canvas of collective discontent.

As strangers from diverse backgrounds stopped to scribble their own frustrations onto the same tiles, the scene morphed into a poignant manifestation of societal ills and personal grievances.

As the cacophony of competing narratives swirls around us, one vital aspect often flies under the radar: the state of our bathrooms. It's only when government officials intervene that attention is finally drawn to this neglected facet.

The film industry has long been accused of sanitizing reality. however, Shankar's latest project dares to take a raw, unvarnished look at India. His gratitude towards those who championed and produced the film is palpable, reflecting a deep appreciation for its impact on societal discourse.
