Yami Gautam and Aditya Dhar Win Three Awards at 72nd National Film Awards for Article 370

Actor Yami Gautam and filmmaker-producer Aditya Dhar are celebrating a triumphant night after their film Article 370 won three prestigious awards at the 72nd National Film Awards. The film took home the top honours in the categories of Best Actor (Female).

Best Feature Film, and Best Music Direction (Songs) at the ceremony held in Ekta Nagar, Kevadia, Gujarat, on Tuesday.

Yami was visibly thrilled as her husband Aditya Dhar accepted the accolades on behalf of the film. The couple arrived at the ceremony dressed in black, exuding a sense of humility and gratitude. Aditya Dhar, who bankrolled Article 370, was seen beaming with pride alongside Yami as they celebrated the film's multiple wins.

At the award ceremony, Aditya Dhar expressed his aspirations for the upcoming Dhurandhar National Award, a coveted recognition that has eluded him so far. When asked about his hopes for the future, Aditya shared, "We're here for Article 370, and we'll discuss Dhurandhar, hopefully, if we come next year also.

Today, it's all about Article 370." The Dhurandhar franchise has already cemented its status as one of the most lucrative in the industry, with both films collectively raking in over ₹3,000 crore at the box office. The franchise's enduring impact on Hindi cinema is a shows its staying power.

With Dhurandhar poised to secure a spot on next year's awards shortlist.

Yami Gautam was visibly overwhelmed with emotion as she accepted the award. Officials stated that it feels great to receive such a prestigious honour. This is the biggest validation for any artiste, and it's the highest honour presented by the country.

Yami struggled to put her thoughts into words, saying, I am still trying to soak in. I am smiling but from the inside. I am still feeling like a newcomer for whom everything is so big and so special.

For Yami, the film Article 370 has been a major shift, offering her a chance to showcase her range as an actor. For a film like Article 370, which gave me so much as an artiste, as an actor - everything I had been wanting to do for the longest time, she added.

Article 370 is an upcoming film directed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale. Starring Yami Gautam as Zooni Haksar, a high-stakes field agent thrust into a high-pressure mission in Kashmir. Set against the backdrop of escalating tensions, the movie follows Zooni's perilous assignment as a constitutional decision looms on the horizon.

The film features a talented ensemble cast, including Priyamani, Arun Govil, Kiran Karmarkar, Raj Zutshi, Sumit Kaul, and Raj Arjun.
