Gunn Sparks Lanterns Season 2 Hopes with Excited Finale Prediction

DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn has reignited hopes for a second season of the critically acclaimed series Lanterns. This is set to conclude its first season this Sunday. In a recent post on Threads, Gunn expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming finale, stating, "I've seen Lanterns 500 times and even I'm excited for next week's finale,".

Gunn's comments were met with curiosity from fans. Who sought clarification on whether the finale marked the end of the series or the beginning of a new season. Gunn swiftly responded, "Season finale, correct."

The first season of Lanterns has captivated audiences with its intricate mystery surrounding the murder of Hal Jordan, played by Kyle Chandler. As of episode 7, the case remains unsolved, leaving fans eager for answers.

Meanwhile, Guy Gardner, played by Nathan Fillion, remains in the wings, ready to take center stage. Lanterns co-creator/showrunner Chris Mundy has also addressed the possibility of a second season. Stating, The question is whether [season two] is a story people are interested in.

If that's the case, then we'll get to do another one.

Pre-production work for a potential second season is already underway. With Mundy revealing that the team is about six weeks into outlining a new season. While there is no official green light for the project, Mundy's comments suggest that the creative team is eager to continue the story.
