Marvel's Wolverine has long been criticized for its restrictive gameplay. With many players feeling that the game's infamous Scent Trails were too much to handle. But in a recent update, Insomniac Games has added some much-needed flexibility to the game's design.
The update, which was released just three days ago, has given players the option to turn off Scent Trails leading to Whisky Bottle collectibles and Nightmare Door Roots. These trails, which were previously always on, were designed to guide players towards specific objectives. However, many fans found them to be too much to handle.

"Story-critical Senses will still appear in the world," the studio writes in its new patch notes. That means the main, permanent blue trail pointing to the next objective is always on. However, players can now toggle these trails on and off, giving them more control over their gameplay experience.
Insomniac's community and marketing director James Stevenson says the developer will "continue to listen and work with the team to address feedback and requests." The update is a major victory for fans who felt that the game's Scent Trails were too much to handle.
Marvel's Wolverine has had a remarkable launch, beating Death Stranding 2's entire lifetime PS5 revenue in just three days. The game has sold over 1.9 million copies, according to analyst estimates.
The update also addresses a few technical issues, including a bug that caused objects to turn all-white when played for too long.

Overall, the update is a significant improvement to the game's design, and Insomniac Games is to be commended for listening to fan feedback and making changes to address it.
