Ranbir Kapoor's Ramayana to Break Diwali Tradition with November 5 Release

Less than one-and-a-half months are left for the release of Ramayana, and the excitement is gradually building. The grand epic, directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, is set to release in cinemas on November 5. This marked a departure from the traditional Diwali release pattern.

Details have emerged about the highly anticipated release of Ramayana, slated for November 5. The project's creators have opted for a global rollout, with simultaneous launches in India and internationally.

Stakeholders have largely expressed support for the revised release date, paving the way for the film's worldwide debut.

For the past nine years, the majority of major Diwali releases have traditionally debuted the day after the Festival of Lights, a phenomenon attributed to the assumption that viewers may be preoccupied with puja and festivities on the actual holiday. However, the producers behind Ramayana are bucking this trend by opting to release the film three days prior to Diwali, a move that speaks to their faith in the film's commercial viability.

Ramayana stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama. Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman, and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman. The music is composed by A R Rahman and Hans Zimmer.

It is a two-part saga, with the first part scheduled for Diwali 2026.

Ramayana will release in India on November 8 and overseas on November 6, according to earlier plans. However, the makers have now decided to release the film on November 5, marking a change in plans.
