Sharmila's appearance vibe particularly significant

Sharmila's appearance in Vibe is particularly significant as she will be sharing the screen with her son-in-law Kunal Kemmu for the first time. Her last notable role was in Suman Ghosh's Bengali psychological film Puratawn, which marked her return to the big screen after a 16-year hiatus.

Vibe marks Sharmila's first collaboration with Kunal as well as his debut as writer and director. The film also sees him take on the lead role, a departure from his cameo appearance in Madgaon Express, his 2024 directorial debut.

The teaser introduced Preity Zinta as a government official who kidnaps two clueless friends and recruits them for a mission to save the nation. Kunal's character, however, is reluctant to become a spy, taking a humorous dig at Preity's 1998 action thriller Soldier.

Sharmila will also make her first big-screen appearance in a Hindi film in 16 years, following her performance in Rahul V Chittella's family drama Gulmohar, which premiered directly on JioHotstar. Her previous Hindi theatrical release was Danish Aslam's 2010 romantic comedy Break Ke Baad.
