Sequoia Capital-backed startup Empirik is poised to revolutionize the way infrastructure engineers prevent and resolve tech outages, having recently raised $21 million in seed funding from top venture capital firms.

Empirik's game-changing product tracks system
Empirik's game-changing product tracks system changes and infers their potential ripple effects across entire infrastructures, enabling engineers to make data-driven decisions in real-time. This innovative approach sets the company apart from existing observability tools that often struggle to understand complex system dependencies.
"There's been a significant investment in keeping systems up and running," said Bogomil Balkansky, Sequoia partner. "Most current observability tools fall short in understanding these intricate dependencies. Empirik is one of the first dedicated solutions focused on tracking changes across massive environments."
Empirik's autonomous 'traffic cop' approach allows for low-risk changes, sets guardrails on larger ones, and flags the most critical updates for human review. Since its launch earlier this year, the startup has already secured customers from startups to Fortune 500 players, including S&P Global, Guardant Health, and a major consumer packaged goods company.

As AI accelerates software development, tools like Empirik are becoming increasingly vital for infrastructure engineers to keep up with constant system changes. "Empirik wants to do for infrastructure engineering what Cursor and Claude Code did for software developers: automate certain tasks so they can work significantly faster," said Kartik Chandrayana, CEO of Empirik.
With its unique approach, Empirik is currently operating in a category of its own, complementing AI SRE platforms like Resolve and Sequoia-backed Traversal. The company's mission to automate tasks for infrastructure engineers has resonated with its growing customer base.
