Yash Raj Films secures overseas distribution rights for Sooraj Barjatya's Yeh Prem Mol Liya

A star-studded launch event for Yeh Prem Mol Liya at Mumbai's storied Royal Opera House generated considerable excitement on September 20. The film's director, Sooraj Barjatya, is known for helming family-friendly movies, and this latest project is no exception. YRF has now secured the international distribution rights for the movie, bolstering its prospects for a global audience.

A trade source told SeenTick, “YRF has a very strong distribution network and is known to secure the best possible screens across key overseas territories. With YRF coming on board, Yeh Prem Mol Liya is expected to get a healthy release in the major international markets.”.

Yeh Prem Mol Liya is produced by Rajshri Productions and marks the fourth association between the banner and YRF. Their relationship dates back to Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon (2003), which was also distributed internationally by YRF. Sooraj Barjatya’s previous directorial, Uunchai (2022), was released worldwide by YRF, that is, both in India and overseas.

A year later, YRF also handled the India distribution of Dono (2023), the directorial debut of Sooraj Barjatya’s son Avnish S Barjatya, starring Sunny Deol’s son Rajveer Deol and Poonam Dhillon’It was daughter Paloma Dhillon.

As the overseas market is now secured, the spotlight shifts to the highly anticipated domestic release of Yeh Prem Mol Liya in India. The question on everyone's mind is which studio or distribution company will ultimately secure the rights to the film. Given the reputation of the Rajshri brand and Sooraj Barjatya's enduring popularity among family audiences.

Yeh Prem Mol Liya releases in cinemas on November 27. The distribution arm of the premier production house will release Yeh Prem Mol Liya across international markets.
