Court Restrains Defamatory Content Against Nani-starrer The Paradise

The Paradise, a highly anticipated film by Nani and Srikanth Odela, is set to finally hit theaters on September 24, following multiple delays. The film's producers have taken proactive steps to protect their investment by filing a court application seeking an injunction against the circulation of allegedly defamatory content.

The court, presided over by the XXXV Additional City Civil and Sessions Judge, Bengaluru, passed the order on September 19, 2026. The application was filed by Sri Lakshmi Venkateshwara Cinemas LLP, the film's producer, on behalf of the producers. The plea stated that a substantial investment had been made in the production, marketing, and distribution of the film.

The makers have argued that the circulation of such material could cause significant financial harm to the film. Following the release of the official teaser on August 6. Several posts, comments, and URLs containing allegedly false and derogatory content began circulating on social media.

The court has found that the producers have established a prima facie case. Observing that the material appears to be beyond standard artistic evaluation and is aimed at diminishing the commercial value of the production.

A high court order has effectively halted the defendants. Their senior executives, and anyone else on their behalf from disseminating the allegedly libelous material detailed in a court schedule, a move aimed at preventing further harm to the plaintiff's reputation.

The Paradise is a film produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri under the banner of SLV Cinemas. Starring Nani and Srikanth Odela, alongside Kayadu Lohar, Raghav Juyal, and Mohan Babu in lead roles. The music for the film is being composed by Anirudh Ravichander.

Who had initially scheduled the release for March, then August, before it was pushed back due to production delays.

The Paradise marks the reunion of Nani and Srikanth Odela, following their previous collaboration in Dasara. With its release set for September 24. The makers seem to be taking a proactive approach to prevent the circulation of defamatory content against the film, similar to the Yash-starrer Toxic.
