Ranveer Brar to Star in International Film with UK Director

Ranveer Brar, the celebrity chef and actor known for his roles in Modern Love Mumbai (2022) and The Buckingham Murders (2024), is set to star in an international film with a UK-based director. The yet-to-be-announced project will see Brar play a biryani chef, according to Brar himself.

During his recent return to Lucknow, actor Brar discussed his latest project with local media, drawing on his experience in film and television. His journey in the entertainment industry has seen the rise of food-related content, from recipes to social media platforms.

Initially, food was confined to traditional recipes, but it soon expanded to travel content, reality shows, and short films. Brar believes the food fiction genre remains underexplored, with numerous stories rooted in Indian culture revolving around food.

As a result, he anticipates a surge in food-themed storytelling in the future.

Brar also mentioned his upcoming projects, including a book on tandoor cooking and a celebrity reality show, Yess Chef, for YouTube. The book has already gone to print, and the next season of MasterChef India is set to begin in December.

The film, which will be shot early next year, has been screened in various worldwide film festivals. This includes the Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF 2026) in June. It will next travel to the International Film Festival of South Asia (IFFSA), Toronto.

Brar believes that food and fiction are the next steps in content, and the audience will connect to such stories. He is encouraging young writers and makers to come up with content related to food storytelling. Which he will love to associate and produce.
