In an exclusive interview with The Indian Express, Franke expressed his excitement about India finally "walking the talk" on its long-held stance on the issue.

India has been a vocal advocate for dialogue and diplomacy in resolving the conflict. However, its actions in the past have been criticized for not matching its rhetoric. Franke acknowledged that India's diplomatic efforts have been limited.

However, emphasized that the country is now ready to put its weight behind its statements.

According to Franke, India has moved a proposal to end the war in Ukraine, which was seriously considered by Russian President Putin. Franke hopes that more countries will take note of this development and put pressure on Russia to end the conflict.

Franke believes that India's multi-alignment policy, which involves engaging with multiple countries, is great on paper but has limitations. He emphasized that countries like India need stability and predictability in global trade and relations. And that the Ukraine-Russia war comes at a cost for everyone.

Franke expressed his pessimism about the energy security situation in West Asia. Which he believes will continue to be a challenge unless a larger alliance of countries works together to find a diplomatic solution.

Franke discussed the rise of the far right party AfD in Germany. Which he believes is a concern for global governance and multilateralism.

Franke reflected on India's perception of itself. Emphasizing that the country has made significant progress in recent years but still has a long way to go in terms of its diplomatic efforts.
