A newborn girl was found dead in the maternity ward of a hospital in Madhya Pradesh's Ashoknagar. This prompted an investigation that led to the arrest of the child's mother. According to police, the woman was upset because she had been expecting a son and was disappointed when a girl was born.
Police cracked the case after examining hospital CCTV footage and questioning family members. The investigation revealed that the mother had become angry and strangled her daughter in a fit of rage. The baby's body showed signs of compression around the neck, leading police to treat the death as suspicious.

Police questioned the mother after discovering discrepancies in the circumstances surrounding the child'It was death. The questioning was conducted with sensitivity, given that the suspect was the mother herself.
When she gave birth to the girl, she became upset and eventually strangled her daughter, according to police.
Initial reports suggested that the mother may have been responsible for the death. As access to the child was restricted due to her admission to the Special Newborn Care Unit. However, police were unable to gather footage from the maternity ward, which did not have a camera.
The baby was born on October 2 and was admitted to the hospital shortly after. She was found dead under suspicious circumstances, leading police to investigate further.

A medical examination revealed that the death was not natural and that the infant had passed away due to compression around the neck.
Police questioned the baby's relatives separately and examined the available evidence. The case was subsequently filed at the Kotwali police station. The investigation is ongoing, with police continuing to gather evidence and interview witnesses.
