Delhi's Jantar Mantar will witness a massive protest on October 10 as the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) vows to defy authorities and stage a demonstration demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The CJP, which has been at the forefront of protests against Kumar, has announced that it will proceed with the march despite the possibility of arrests and crackdowns by the Delhi Police.
Speaking to The Indian Express, CJP co-convener Ashutosh, Ranka stated. that the party will not be deterred by the authorities' attempts to stop them. "We'll do a march.
Wherever they pause us, we'll sit. that place becomes Jantar Mantar. And until and unless they allow us to go in, we'll not get up.
They can, of course, arrest us, beat us up. That they can keep doing, but we are very clear - the protest will be done at Jantar Mantar," he said.

The CJP's protests against Kumar have intensified across the country, with similar demonstrations taking place in other cities. This includes in Delhi, over alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
An Indian Express investigation published on September 23 found that two election commissioners in the three-member ECI had recorded objections-14 times in 10 months-to steps taken by Kumar.
Interestingly, the CJP's protests have drawn attention from Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, who has been asked to take note of the situation. The party's demands for Kumar's resignation have also been echoed by Amit Shah Asked. Who has expressed concerns over the ECI's handling of the electoral rolls.
The CJP's decision to stage a protest at Jantar Mantar comes after a successful sit-in protest in July. There, the party's members staged a sit-in for over a month to demand the resignation of then-Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET paper leak issue.
The party has vowed to continue its protests until its demands are met, including Kumar's resignation.

Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, has been critical of the ECI's handling of the electoral rolls. In a statement, Gandhi said that the ECI's actions have led to widespread discontent among the people, and that the government needs to take immediate action to address the situation.
The CJP's protest is also being supported by the All India Students, who have expressed solidarity with the party's demands. The students have vowed to participate in the protest and to raise awareness about the issues affecting the electoral rolls.
The protest is set to take place on October 10, and it is expected to draw a large crowd. And that it will continue to fight for its demands until they are met.
