As the BBC traveled to the region, they spoke to Azadeh Moshiri, South Asia correspondent, who witnessed firsthand the devastating effects of the floods. "The scenes I've seen are truly heartbreaking," Moshiri said in an interview.

"Many families have lost everything, and it's a scene that will stay with me for a long time."

One local resident, who wished to remain anonymous, shared his personal story of loss and struggle. He explained that he is still waiting for the body of his wife, who was swept away "I'm still hoping that my wife's body will be found," he said, his voice shaking with emotion.

"It's been a week since she disappeared, and I've heard nothing. It's like she vanished into thin air."

Rescue efforts are ongoing, but the scale of the disaster is daunting. The local government has deployed troops and aid workers to the affected areas, but many more resources are needed to address the crisis.
