Nana Patekar's Last Rites Performed at Midnight: Son Malhar

Nana Patekar, a renowned actor, was cremated with full state honours at his farmhouse in Pune. This marked the end of an era for Indian cinema. The actor's son, Malhar Patekar, oversaw the cremation process, which took place around 11:30 PM, in the presence of several dignitaries.

This includes Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, and thousands of fans.

Malhar, Patekar shared. his father's vision and the continuation of his social initiatives through the Naam Foundation. He stated that his father's work had a lasting impact, ensuring his legacy would endure.

The Naam Foundation's existing initiatives in the water sector and education. As well as its recent expansion into healthcare in Kashmir, would continue to be carried forward.

Malhar Patekar revealed that his father's social initiatives would persist even after his passing. The family had decided to proceed with the funeral late at night due to the time it took for his father's body to arrive from Goa.

Nana Patekar passed away after suffering a severe cardiac arrest at his residence in Goa on Thursday morning. The actor had called his friend in the early hours of Thursday, feeling uneasy, and was taken to Manipal Hospital. There, doctors attempted to revive him for approximately 45 minutes.

Dr. Shekhar Salkar, Chief of the Oncology Department at Manipal Hospital, confirmed the news to ANI. The actor was laid to rest with full state honours in Pune, marking a poignant end to a distinguished career.
