Adityanath also highlighted Modi's political ties to Uttar Pradesh through Varanasi. Modi represents the holy city in Parliament. The Chief Minister recalled Modi's 2014 statement when he announced, "Mother Ganga has called me" That relationship grew to "encompass its development, spiritual revival and the broader development of UP".
Adityanath noted that a "double-engine" system linked the Centre and state government. Under Modi's guidance, "a new work culture for development evolved in Uttar Pradesh," the CM said.
The airport is located in Jewar within Gautam Buddha Nagar district. It operates as a secondary commercial hub for the National Capital Region alongside Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport. The new airport was designed to take passenger loads off the New Delhi facility.
It connects directly to regional networks through the Yamuna Expressway and multi-modal transit links.
The project was built through a public-private partnership. Yamuna International Airport Private Limited developed the site with state authorities. The firm is a subsidiary of Zurich Airport International AG.
