Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis Praises Rajkummar Rao's Prahaar, Says Film Carries a Message

At a grand launch event for his upcoming film Prahaar: The Untold Story of Ujjwal Nikam. Bollywood actor Rajkummar Rao received praise from Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Who expressed his gratitude to the makers, Maddock Films, for choosing a subject centred on the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks and the legal battle that followed.

Fadnavis also praised Rajkummar, who plays Ujjwal Nikam in the film, saying that Prahaar was not merely about entertainment but also carried a message.

According to Fadnavis, Prahaar is inspired from the real-life story of veteran public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam, whose career has included several high-profile criminal trials. This includes the prosecution in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks case. The film also stars Wamiqa Gabbi, Jaideep Ahlawat and Sikandar Kher in key roles.

It is directed by Avinash Arun and produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on October 16.

The film's makers unveiled the trailer at a grand launch at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT). A venue that holds significant historical value. Having been the starting point for many of the city's most iconic landmarks, including the iconic Victoria Terminus. The event marked a poignant moment in the film's journey.

As it brought together the past and the present, highlighting the sacrifices made by police personnel who lost their lives during the attacks.

Nikam's handling of the case was marked by a rare blend of professionalism. Dedication, and patriotism, qualities that earned him Fadnavis' highest praise. Fadnavis also recalled the sacrifices of officers including former Mumbai Anti-Terrorism Squad chief Hemant Karkare.

Additional Commissioner of Police Ashok Kamte, senior police inspector Vijay Salaskar and Assistant Sub-Inspector Tukaram Omble, whose presence and sacrifices on the ground played a important step in ensuring that justice was delivered.

With its release scheduled for October 16. Prahaar: The Untold Story of Ujjwal Nikam is set to bring attention to a key role in Indian history. One that serves as a reminder of the importance of perseverance, justice, and the unwavering dedication of those who serve their country.
