Actor Soni Razdan has revealed that she was paid by Vidhu Vinod Chopra 10 years after the release of his 1986 film Khamosh. In a conversation with Hindustan Times, Soni recalled how her remuneration for the film was the most unusual.

According to Soni, Vidhu Vinod Chopra delivered on his promise, sending her a cheque 10 years later. The actor stated that she had not received any payment during the film's production. With Vidhu Vinod Chopra assuring her that she would be compensated once the film generated revenue.

When asked about the cheque, Soni explained that it was a surprise to her, and she had inquired about it. Vidhu Vinod Chopra confirmed that he had indeed kept his promise. Officials stated that he had been waiting for the right moment to make the payment.

Soni recently appeared in two projects: the film Om Ka Hari and the Netflix series Shaque. Om Ka Hari, written and directed by Harish Vyas, tells the story of the conflict between a father and a son, played by Raghubir Yadav and Anshuman Jha. Soni appears in the film alongside Ayesha Kapur, which was released in theatres on September 18.

Less than a week later, Soni appeared in Shaque, a series that stars Parineeti Chopra in her web series debut. Alongside Jennifer Winget, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Soni, Sumeet Vyas, Harleen Sethi, Anup Soni, and Dhruv Chowdhury, the series began streaming on Netflix on September 24.
