Bollywood celebrities have taken to social media to express their support for the Cockroach Janta Party's (CJP) protests against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Demanding his resignation over alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

Vijay Varma, an actor, took to Instagram to express his sarcasm towards Gyanesh Kumar, questioning the support for the Chief Election Commissioner. He shared a photo of Gyanesh Kumar with the words, "The face of free and fair election." Another tagline read, "Saving private gyan", a reference to the Hollywood classic Saving Private Ryan, starring Tom Hanks, which follows a mission to rescue an American paratrooper during World War II.

Huma Qureshi voiced her discontent with the detention of protesters. This highlights the importance of safeguarding their right to peaceful assembly and holding those in power accountable. As the world's largest democracy, she highlighted that peaceful protest and demand for transparency are fundamental tenets of democratic governance.

Qureshi noted that citizens must be free to express dissent without fear of reprisal. And that questioning authority is a cornerstone of a healthy democracy. The suppression of peaceful protest, she argued, directly erodes the very principles that underpin democratic values.

The journalist's stance is uncompromising: they refuse to align with any political party or individual. Instead choosing to support the collective voice of citizens demanding accountability. Peaceful protesters, and the democratic right to express dissent among India's populace. This conviction stems from a deep love for the country, which motivates them to speak out despite the potential risks.

This includes personal attacks, financial scrutiny, and professional repercussions. With no secrets to hide, they're unapologetic about their patriotism.

"Patriotism is not blind silence. Democracy is not blind obedience. And dissent is not anti- national.

The world is watching. We must do better. Jai Hind."

The protests in Delhi saw large-scale detentions, with CJP leaders. This includes Abhijeet Dipke and Saurav Das. And other demonstrators taken into custody as police tightened security around the planned gathering at Jantar Mantar.

However, the detainees were later released. Delhi, however, continued to see protest on Sunday. Besides, AISA president Neha Bora was also detained at Connaught Place by the Delhi police officers.
