Indian Railways is on the cusp of launching its second Vande Bharat sleeper train, a significant development in the country's rail network. The new train is expected to substantially reduce the travel time between Bengaluru and Mumbai, two of India's major cities.
The first Vande Bharat sleeper train was launched earlier this year, connecting Guwahati and Howrah, and has been well-received by passengers.
The second Vande Bharat sleeper train is expected to be flagged off later this month. With the Railway Board issuing a notification shortly. The train is designed to operate at speeds of up to 160 kmph, with testing speeds reaching 180 kmph.

The train features modern bio-vacuum toilets, a Centralised Coach Monitoring System, and cushioned berths, aimed at providing greater comfort to passengers.
The train is expected to make scheduled halts at Anantapur. Guntakal, Raichur, Kalaburagi, Solapur, and Kalyan, before reaching its final destination of Mumbai CSMT. The service is expected to leave KSR Bengaluru at 10 PM and arrive at Mumbai CSMT at 1:50 PM the next day.
