The CJP had called for a protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on October 10. Demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged irregularities in the SIR process.

Ahead of the demonstration, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke and party leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka were detained by Delhi Police after their flight landed at Indira Gandhi International Airport.

Shivaji Park, slated to host a demonstration, was enveloped in a heightened security cordon, with protesters encountering tight controls on entry routes into the city. Despite these measures, Chief Justice Khan had stressed the value of public engagement, encouraging residents of Delhi to turn out in significant numbers to participate in the protest.

Richa Chadha took to the social media platform X to rally support for a demonstration in Delhi. This highlights the challenges faced by outsiders due to strict route restrictions. The actress pointed out that the limitations on entry points have effectively barred people from outside the city from reaching central Delhi.

She urged residents to make a significant show of presence, emphasizing the importance of wearing protective gear. By turning out in large numbers, Chadha hoped to counter the perceived apathy of outsiders, encouraging them to challenge the status quo.

The protest at Jantar Mantar has highlighted the growing discontent among Indian citizens. With many calling for greater transparency and accountability in the electoral process.
