Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor has joined the Opposition in demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Saying the deployment of 40,000 paramilitary forces in Delhi proves the protest's success.
According to Kishor, the credibility of the Election Commission of India has eroded in the last 8-10 years, with serious questions on its credibility being raised. "In last eight to 10 years, there have been serious questions on the credibility of the ECI. CEC Kumar should resign," he said.
Reacting to media questions on the protest against Chief Election Commissioner Kumar, Kishor said, "Many people are looking at how many people attended the protest, but the fact that the government had to deploy 40,000 paramilitary forces to stop it shows how powerful it was."
