Ahead of the Cockroach Janata Party's planned protest in the national capital on October 10, climate and education activist Sonam Wangchuk explained why he "won't be able to join you all in Delhi". Despite all efforts of the government to hinder and damage our work, we continue to work for national security, making preparations as another winter comes, Wangchuk wrote in a video posted on X.
Wangchuk's fast had galvanized protesters and prompted many people to come to Jantar Mantar from across the country. It was when he was taken away by the authorities. Citing health concerns, the protest gathered momentum, eventually culminating in Pradhan’s exit.
Despite the government's efforts to hinder their work, the Cockroach Janata Party continues to work for national security.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Police has activated a 37-point dragnet across the national capital to prevent Saturday’s Jantar Mantar demonstration against alleged voter roll irregularities. Indian Railways has cancelled all mails and express trains to and from New Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin stations for 10 hours on October 10 amid a CJP protest.
Delhi Police denied permission for the Cockroach Janata Party protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar at Jantar Mantar. Citing rule violations and BNSS Section 163 prohibitory orders.
The Supreme Court has expressed concerns over the complete closure of metro station entries, stating, "We are mainly concerned about the complete closure of metro station entries; we have serious concerns about this."
The DGP's office has admitted issuing notices but denies any detentions. In Mumbai, Thane, Nagpur, and Pune, police have warned would-be protesters against October 10 agitation, with some activists being detained on trains and at their homes.
