India's position as the world's third-largest crude importer renders it particularly vulnerable to shifts in global oil prices. When crude costs spike, the country's import expenditures skyrocket, sparking concerns over inflation and squeezing corporate profit margins.

The economic fallout extends beyond the corporate sector, with foreign investors also feeling the pinch. According to provisional data, Indian share sales plummeted by 50.27 billion rupees on Thursday, a staggering $523.89 million, as investors sought to diversify their portfolios.

The surge in crude prices has also pushed US 30-year bond yields to their highest level in over two decades, further straining markets.

With crude prices easing marginally on Friday but continuing to trade at a high level of around $106 a barrel.

The ongoing Middle East tensions have also raised concerns about the potential impact on inflation and interest rates across global markets. Crude prices have been a major factor in this, with India particularly exposed to higher crude prices due to its significant imports. The nation's import bill is expected to increase, fueling inflation worries and squeezing corporate margins.

As the situation unfolds, investors will be closely watching the developments in the Middle East and their potential impact on global markets.
