Landslide in Odisha Disrupts Rail Traffic, Four Trains Cancelled on September 25

Disruptions to train services are expected in Odisha's Rayagada Division on September 25, with four services cancelled due to a landslide. The East Coast Railway is taking a proactive approach. Opting to halt certain services and cut short others to prioritize passenger safety and facilitate the restoration of the affected railway line.

This strategic move is aimed at ensuring the swift completion of repairs and minimizing the impact on commuters.

The landslide in Odisha's Rayagada Division has caused significant disruption to train services in the region. The affected section, which includes the portion between Koraput and Jagdalpur, will remain cancelled, with the train number 18006 Jagdalpur-Howrah Express, scheduled to start from Jagdalpur, instead originating from Koraput.

The Kirandul Express Howrah, Howrah Express, Its Jagdalpur, Jagdalpur Express Train, Rourkela Express, Hirakhand Express, Jagdalpur Hirakhand Express, and Bhubaneswar Hirakhand Express have been affected by the disruption.

Under the East Coast Railway's revised schedule, several key train services will be significantly altered. The railway authority has opted to terminate or originate these services from Koraput. Citing the need for safety measures and restoration work on the affected section.

The Kirandul-Visakhapatnam Passenger and Visakhapatnam-Kirandul Passenger services. As well as the Kirandul-Visakhapatnam Express and Visakhapatnam-Kirandul Express trains, will be impacted by these changes.

Passengers travelling through the affected section are advised to check the latest status of their train at the National Train Enquiry System (NTES) before starting their journey. The East Coast Railway has assured that all necessary measures are being taken to restore normal train services as soon as possible.

The railway administration is confident that the restoration work will be completed soon, and normal train services will resume.
