Mumbai-based social activist Anna Hazare has been hospitalized for a viral infection and acute dehydration, according to his aide, who confirmed the development on Tuesday.

Hazare was shifted from Ahilyanagar district hospital in Mumbai to Bombay Hospital in South Mumbai on Monday, where he is currently receiving treatment.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered an FIR against officials of the Food Corporation of India (FCI) and the North Eastern Regional Agricultural Marketing Corporation (NERAMAC) over allegations of diverting subsidized rice meant for poor laborers to traders who sold it for profit.

According to CBI sources, the rice was allegedly diverted, leaving thousands of laborers without access to the essential commodity. The agency has launched an investigation into the matter.

The suspect, whose identity remains unknown, allegedly pulled knives from a shopping bag and attacked the 68-year-old man and 32-year-old woman near West 42nd Street and Seventh Avenue. The man is in stable condition, while the woman died of her injuries.

"I was put in Tihar jail in Delhi? What mistake have I committed?" Kavitha said, her voice trembling. "It is not our language, not our people there.

But I made a resolve. I did not lose courage."

Kavitha also called for a "Bahujana Telangana" focused on free education and healthcare, farmers' welfare, jobs, and social justice.

She alleged that Nizamabad did not receive water from the Kaleshwaram project despite the state spending over Rs 1 lakh crore on it.
