A group of Naga legislators from Manipur has sent a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, urging him to intervene in the volatile situation in the state. The letter, bearing signatures of eight out of nine Naga MLAs, was confirmed Nungba MLA Diganglung Gangmei, however, was the only Naga MLA who did not sign the letter, and a close aide revealed that Gangmei had yet to make a decision on whether or not to join his fellow legislators in their plea for action.

The letter described the situation in Manipur as "critical and volatile," with the Naga legislators calling for "decisive and bold action" to prevent further deterioration. In the letter, the MLAs outlined five key demands, including the arrest of Kuki-Zo leaders who allegedly claimed responsibility for the killing and dismemberment of six Naga civilians.

The legislators have also sought the arrest of Thangboi Kipgen, a prominent figure in the Kuki National Front-P (KNF-P), alleging his involvement in the killings.

Furthermore, the Naga legislators demanded action against Manipur Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen, claiming that her office was colluding with the Kuki militant group allegedly led The MLAs also called for the immediate abrogation of the Suspension of Operations (SoO) agreement with all Kuki militant groups, citing repeated violations of the agreement and continued attacks on civilians. According to the legislators, these actions would help to prevent further violence and promote peace in the region.
