The body of a 20-year-old college student from Assam was discovered near Tekkali in Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh. 24 hours after she was last in contact. The woman had boarded a train from Visakhapatnam Railway Station.
There, she had made multiple calls to her friends and family, expressing discomfort in a coach filled with unruly, inebriated men. Her phone was switched off shortly after. And her family members stated she had made a distress call to the Railway police control room and other helplines.
Despite the Railway police's search efforts, the young woman was not found in the coach. Both the GRP, Palasa, and RPF, Srikakulam, have filed separate cases in connection with her death. The family has demanded a thorough investigation into the incident and justice.

According to Dr Tapan Das, MLA of Dimoria Assembly Constituency, the woman's home is located in the same area where an issue had arisen between her troupe and the organisers of a dance programme in Visakhapatnam. It is reported that two boys accompanying the troupe were attacked after they demanded their due payment.
Following this, the troupe left the facility they were being accommodated in, reached the railway station, and boarded trains heading towards Assam.
The family is seeking a thorough investigation into the death and is demanding justice. The post-mortem has been performed by authorities in Andhra Pradesh, and they are awaiting the report. According to the Railway authorities, the circumstances of the incident are under inquiry.
Preliminary findings by the GRP, Palasa, suggest that the deceased may have fallen from the running train.
