Ella Langley, a 27-year-old US country music star, has cancelled her sold-out concert in Tulsa, Oklahoma, just hours before it was set to start, citing a "serious security threat". The singer made the decision around two hours before the show at the 19,000-seater BOK Center arena was due to begin.
The threat, described by Cpt Richard Meulenberg from the Tulsa Police Department, involved a person claiming "great harm" would be done at the event with "shots fired and bombs". Meulenberg stated his team had checked the venue multiple times before the show and "could not find any credible threat".

However, the person who made the call "disrupted this entire event" for thousands of Langley fans.
The event was ready to go, with officers with sniffer dogs doing a sweep of the arena again after the phone call was made. Despite the thorough search, the threat was deemed serious enough to cancel the show. The BOK Center prioritised the safety and well-being of everyone involved, and after careful consideration, they determined that the show cannot proceed.
In a surprise move, Langley took to Instagram to address her fans, describing her decision as "incredibly difficult". She apologised for the disappointment this news brings to fans who planned to attend. And assured them that additional information regarding ticket refunds will be shared as soon as possible.

Its success helped the singer from Alabama to sweep the Academy of Country Music Awards in May.
The cancellation of the concert is a stark reminder of the importance of prioritising safety and well-being, especially in high-profile events. The BOK Center's decision to cancel the show is a shows their commitment to protecting their patrons.
