Sarkar Re-elected as PGI President for Fifth Year

Shibasish Sarkar has been unanimously re-elected as President of the Producers Guild of India. This leads the guild's leadership team for the fifth consecutive year. The decision was made at the first meeting of the newly constituted Council of Management.

Held immediately following the Guild's 72nd Annual General Meeting on September 22, 2026.

Earlier at the AGM, Aamir Khan, Anil Kapoor, Ashutosh Gowariker, Hrithik Roshan, Karan Johar, Rajkumar Hirani, Ritesh Sidhwani and Zoya Akhtar were inducted into the Guild Council of Management. The other office bearers re-elected as part of the Guild’s leadership team are Manish Goswami.

Madhu Bhojwani, Ankur Garg, and Aashish Singh who will continue to serve as Vice Presidents. Ashim Samanta and Fazila Allana will continue in their roles as Treasurers. In addition, Sushilkumar Agrawal and Hiren Gada have also been elected as Vice Presidents of the Producers Guild of India.

The Producers Guild of India was founded in 1954. With the primary objective of promoting the interests of film and television producers in India. Over the years, the guild has grown to become a prominent voice in the Indian entertainment industry, with a membership of over 600 producers and producers' associations.

Shibasish Sarkar has been a key figure in the guild's leadership, having served as its President since 2021. Under his leadership, the guild has implemented various initiatives to support its members. This includes a mentorship program and a support fund for emerging producers.
