Ranveer Singh's Action Saga Gets 45-50 Cuts for TV Premiere

Star Gold is set to air the television premiere of Dhurandhar The Revenge on Sunday, October 18, at 7:00 pm. The action saga, which stars Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, and Sara Arjun, had to undergo significant changes to secure a U/A 16+ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

Following the success of its predecessor, Dhurandhar, which shattered box office records on December 5, 2025, Dhurandhar The Revenge made a similarly impressive debut on March 19, 2026. The film chronicles the exploits of an Indian spy who infiltrates a notorious Karachi gang, wreaking havoc in the process.

The success of the film led to a television premiere. With the action saga now set for its television premiere on Star Gold.

According to a trade source, "The makers were asked to make 45 to 50 cuts. Almost all the modifications pertained to the extremely violent and gory scenes." The source further stated, "The makers, however, have smoothly edited out the disturbing scenes in such a way that the impact of the film stayed intact." The modifications were necessary to secure a U/A 16+ certificate from the CBFC, which passed the film with the new certificate on September 24, 2026.

As a result of the cuts, the U/A 16+ version of Dhurandhar The Revenge is 10 minutes shorter than the theatrical version, which had a runtime of 229.6 minutes. The revised version will air on Star Gold on October 18. 2026, at 7:00 pm, offering fans a chance to experience the action-packed film in a television-friendly format.

SeenTick reported that the film's production company, B62 Studios, had undergone the necessary changes to secure the U/A 16+ certificate. The company's association with Jio Studios and While, Dhurandhar added. to the film's production, with Jyoti Deshpande serving as the film's producer.
