Manufactured at the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai, the updated rake features 180-degree rotating executive seats, bio-vacuum touch-free toilets, panoramic anti-glare windows, dynamic digital infotainment displays, and energy-efficient regenerative braking systems.
The train is fully integrated with KAVACH, India's indigenously developed Automatic Train Collision Avoidance System, which automatically applies brakes in the event of human signalling errors.

By slashing travel time by more than two hours compared to conventional express trains, the service is expected to cater to business commuters, students, and tourists. The Railway Board confirmed plans to roll out Vande Bharat Sleeper trains on overnight trunk routes in the upcoming fiscal quarter.
