Google Rolls Out Android 17 QPR2 Beta 3 with New Features and Security Restrictions

Google has started rolling out its latest Android beta, version 17 QPR2 Beta 3, to enrolled Pixel testers. The update brings several new features and security restrictions aimed at combating call-forwarding fraud.

The latest beta is available for devices such as the Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, 7 Pro, 7a, Pixel Fold, and Pixel Tablet, with other users receiving a different version of the software. Google has also fixed two reported bugs from testers, including issues with opening the notification shade and Quick Settings.

The new features in Android 17 QPR2 Beta 3 include Quick Settings layout customization options for foldables and app options for devices with foldable screens. Users can now customize the layout of their Quick Settings menu to suit their preferences.

Another significant change is the introduction of security restrictions aimed at preventing call-forwarding fraud. When users manually dial a call-forwarding code in the system dialer, they will now see a new OS-level confirmation dialog before the command is executed.

Google has also announced that it will be releasing its Pixel 11 series soon, with pre-order deals available for those interested in purchasing the new devices. The Pixel 11 series is expected to arrive on the market in the coming days.

According to Android Authority, the latest beta includes a new set of Quick Settings options that allows users to customize the layout of their screen. The publication also discovered a change for foldables, which brings an app handle to apps in a window, allowing users to drag and switch between full-screen and split-screen viewing.

Google's QPR2 beta is expected to be released as part of its December 2026 Pixel Feature Drop, marking the latest update in its ongoing efforts to improve the Android operating system.
