Googles Pixel 11 Launch Event Falls Flat Due to Poor Timing and Format.

Google's recent Pixel 11 launch show was a missed opportunity to connect with consumers. The event, hosted by comedian Trevor Noah, failed to impress and left many wondering what could have been done differently.

The Problem with the Show

The problem with the show was that it came eight hours after the phones were announced and made public. By this time, consumers already knew about the Pixel 11 series and had no reason to attend a live event.

Additionally, the show's format felt forced, with Noah struggling to engage with Google's PR-trained hosts. The audience was also limited, with only 57,000 people watching at one point.

The Bright Spots

Despite the show's flaws, there were some bright spots. Joël Yawili, a Senior Product Manager for the Gemini app, brought a sense of authenticity to the event, and his demo of the new Sign-to-Text feature was fascinating.

Google did the right thing by wanting to connect with consumers, but the execution fell short. With a few tweaks, the company can improve its live events and build stronger relationships with its audience.
