Sonic Racing: Crossworlds, the kart racing game from Sega, has taken a significant step forward with its Year Two DLC roadmap. The game's first year of post-launch content welcomed a diverse range of characters. This includes Spongebob Squarepants and Minecraft Steve.
However, Sega's latest update takes the game to new heights with an even more extensive lineup of crossovers and exclusive content.

The free content drops throughout 2027 will include the addition of Bayonetta to the roster, alongside a kart inspired by McLaren. Persona 3's Aigis will also join the game, with a new kart and track to match.
The paid Season Two Pass, which kicks off on November 3, will bring a Godzilla collaboration with karts based on popular kaiju and a track that features the iconic creature causing chaos throughout a city.
Sega's also introducing three karts based on classic arcade cabinets (Outrun. After Burner, and Super Megalo) and three karts based on its consoles (Genesis, Saturn, and Dreamcast), alongside a bonus Super Shadow racer for owners of both Season Passes. The Segaland pack takes a break from crossovers, paying tribute to Sega's entire history, arcade classics and home consoles included.
The Year Two Season Pass ends with a surprise collaboration with the Final Fantasy 7 Remake series. Cloud's Buster Sword will be featured alongside a generic ring from the Sonic series. However, no word has been given on what this collaboration includes.

The Reload Revival Royal pack, presumably featuring characters and/or stages from all three modern Persona games, is another exciting addition to the game's roster. The exact details of this pack have not been revealed yet.
Despite Sega's Mario Kart World shade, rival racer Sonic Racing: Crossworlds has "fallen short" of expectations, and compared to Nintendo's sales, it's clear why. The game's Year Two DLC roadmap is a significant step forward. Offering a diverse range of crossovers and exclusive content that will keep players engaged until the end of 2027.
