His second South Indian film was Yaksha, directed by Ramesh Bhagawathar, released in 2011. This Kannada film tells the story of a college student infiltrating an underworld gang. With Nana's character, a police officer, appearing later in the narrative.

Notably, the actor dubbed his own lines in Kannada for the film, showing his dedication to his craft. The film was released on Airtel Xstream Yaksha. A platform that has been a part of Nana PatekarIt was legacy since its inception.

The final South Indian film of Nana's career was Kaala, directed by Pa Ranjith and produced by Dhanush, released in 2018. This social drama starred Nana alongside Rajinikanth, with Nana's portrayal of the soft-spoken gangster-turned-politician Haridev Abhayankar remaining memorable. The film's success was a shows Nana's ability to take on complex roles and deliver memorable performances.

Interestingly, Nana's interest in Malayalam cinema was evident even in his later years, with him expressing a desire to work in the industry in 2023. This desire was likely driven by a lack of opportunities from Kerala directors over the past 50 years. Which prompted him to improve as an actor.
