Renowned actor Nana Patekar succumbed to cardiac arrest at his Goa residence on Thursday morning. Bringing an end to a 75-year career marked by numerous performances. Following the arrest, he was swiftly transported to the hospital.

There, a team of medical professionals undertook a prolonged resuscitation effort lasting approximately 45 minutes, ultimately proving unsuccessful. The cause of death was attributed to a heart attack, as confirmed by the attending medical staff. A state funeral was held at his Pune farmhouse, where he was cremated with full state honours.

Shekhar Suman, the host of the talk show Shekhar Tonite, announced that he has decided to cancel the final episode of his show following Nana's demise on October 8. Shekhar shared that Nana was supposed to be the final guest on the show.

In a heartfelt video shared on his YouTube channel, Shekhar remembered Nana, describing him as fearless, brave, honest, and a person whose simplicity was his strongest trait.

Shekhar Suman recalled working with Nana Patekar in Sohanlal Kanwar's 1990 film Tadap. Although the film never saw the light of day, Shekhar shared the project gave him an opportunity to get to know Nana personally. He stated that Nana's simplicity and humility were qualities that made him stand out, and that he was "irreplaceable" in the film industry.

Shekhar Suman also spoke about his long association with Nana Patekar, describing him as a mentor and a friend. He said that Nana lived life on his own terms. And that he had even decided on his opening lines for the episode of Shekhar Tonite.

Shekhar expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to share Nana's memories with his audience. And stated that he felt like he had received a Padma Vibhushan Award for having Nana on his show.
