The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) confirmed on Sunday that its founder and party members would join protests against the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) chairman and secretary. Amid a row over alleged irregularities in the recruitment process. The announcement came after a group of MPSC aspirants met Dipke at his home in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.

The CJP shared the agitation asking for the resignation of the MPSC chairman and secretary would continue. And threatened a statewide tour to meet aspirants if the authorities did not step down. We will stand with the protesters until their demands are met Dipke shared in a statement.

Thane Police Raid Hotel, Detain Over 65 People

Thane Police officers detained around 65 people after raiding an alleged illegal party at a hotel in Kalyan on Sunday, authorities shared. The raid was carried out following specific intelligence about loud music, liquor consumption and suspected illegal activities.

Police officers shared a case had been filed against seven organisers for allegedly hosting the party without the required civic and law enforcement permissions.

The raid was part of an ongoing crackdown on alleged illegal parties in the city. Police officers officers shared they were investigating possible narcotics use and whether illicit substances were supplied at the venue. Medical checks and verification of those detained are underway.

Meanwhile, CCTV footage is being examined to identify people who allegedly escaped during the commotion.

Rajnath Singh Hails BRICS Summit, India's Leadership Put Global South at Centre

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday hailed the conclusion of the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi. Describing India’s chairship of the grouping as a landmark diplomatic achievement. The two-day summit, held on September 12-13, concluded with the adoption of the New Delhi Declaration 2026, with India placing resilience, innovation, cooperation and sustainability among its key priorities.

The summit also saw Prime Minister Narendra Modi hold 15 bilateral meetings with world leaders. This includes Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. The New Delhi Declaration expressed concern over conflicts in West Asia.

Called for the protection of civilians and civilian infrastructure, and urged dialogue and diplomacy to promote lasting peace and stability.

Police Seize Narcotics Worth Rs 14 Crore in Assam

Police officers seized narcotics worth around Rs 14 crore in two separate operations in Assam’s Cachar district on Sunday and apprehended two alleged drug peddlers, authorities shared. In the first operation, police officers intercepted a truck near Sangai Hotel in the Ramnagar area.

Police officers arrested Abdul Rahim Laskar, a resident of Lailapur in Cachar, in connection with the seizure. Further inquiry is underway to trace the forward and backward linkages. In the second operation, police officers officers officers recovered 10,000 Yaba tablets weighing around 1.309 kg from 23-year-old Jairul Islam in the Gumrah Bazar area.
