Awarapan 2 Continues Strong Run at Box Office
Awarapan 2 has shown no signs of slowing down at the box office, with its fourth day earnings adding to its impressive total.
The Emraan Hashmi-starrer has now crossed ₹90 crore net in India within just four days of its release, a significant feat considering its opening weekend was big.
According to trade tracker Sacnilk, the film collected ₹9.25 crore net on Day 4 from 10,849 shows, with an overall occupancy of 22%. This drop is notable, but Awarapan 2 still holds strong.
The film's opening weekend was impressive, earning ₹22 crore net on Friday and picking up pace over the weekend to earn ₹33.75 crore on Saturday and ₹26 crore on Sunday.
Comparing its performance to Sunny Deol's Batwara 1947, Awarapan 2 is clearly taking the lead in the box office clash. While both films were released alongside each other, Awarapan 2 has added significantly more to its total.
Trade estimates suggest that the film's lifetime India net collection could be in the ₹150-160 crore range, although a sustained run could push it higher.
With two weeks ahead before Yash's Toxic arrives in theatres, Awarapan 2 has a good opportunity to continue adding to its total. If momentum continues, the sequel could even reach the ₹200 crore mark.
The film features Disha Patani and Shabana Azmi in important roles, alongside Puran Gabbi, Anirudh Rawal, Surendar Vicky, Vijayant Kohli, and Atul Kumar. Reviewers have praised the first half of the film, citing its effective storytelling and nostalgic value.
However, some critics have noted that the story can feel repetitive at times, with too many gunfights in quick succession. Despite this, Awarapan 2 remains a promising sequel with a strong run ahead.
