Kiara Advani says she became ‘comfortable with the unfamiliar’ for role in Toxic amid criticism

Geetu Mohandas' new film, Toxic, has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons since its teaser was released. But Kiara Advani is opening up about what drew her to the project and what she's learned from the experience.

The 28-year-old actress recently shared a behind-the-scenes photo from her shoot on Instagram, where she can be seen balancing herself on a large bowl-like structure during a rehearsal. In the caption, Kiara wrote that films have a way of making us step into new worlds and that every new character teaches us something new.

When asked about what led her to say yes to the film, Kiara revealed that growth has always been about saying yes to things that scare you a little. She also shared that she's learned to be comfortable with the unfamiliar and to find joy in the adventure of it all.

Kiara's co-star Yash recently defended her on Aap ki Adalat when the host made a misogynistic comment, saying that Kiara is a professional actor who dedicated herself fully to the role. The film, which also stars Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria, and Rukmini Vasanth, is set to release in theatres on August 26.
