Zoya Akhtar Confirms Sequel Plans for Beloved Travel Film Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara

Renowned filmmaker Zoya Akhtar has finally confirmed that she is working on the long-awaited sequel to her 2011 hit film Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. In a recent interview, Zoya shared that she is waiting for the story to feel 'correct' before moving forward with the project.

During an exclusive conversation at the Monsoon Film Festival, Zoya revealed that Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara 2 is indeed in the works. “We are actively exploring this idea and hope to find a compelling narrative to take our characters on their next journey,” she stated.

This marks one of the most concrete updates fans have received about the sequel, following previous hints from Zoya about revisiting her beloved characters. The filmmaker has been tight-lipped about the project until now, fueling speculation among fans and industry insiders alike.

Zoya also opened up about the reaction she received after a promotional ad was released, which sparked confusion among fans thinking it was a trailer for the sequel. In a recent interview, he expressed his desire to reprise his role as Kabir and work with Zoya again, saying “If I had to repeat any film experience, in a heartbeat I would choose Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. I hope Zoya does ZNMD 2.”

The prospect of the original cast returning has been a major point of interest among fans, who are eager to see Arjun, Kabir, and Imran reunite on screen once again.
