Former reality television contestant Sofia Hayat has called Salman Khan a "hypocritical idiot" after his recent appearance on Bigg Boss. Her reaction followed an episode where the host removed his shirt on stage to confront online trolls.
Hayat took to X to share a video clip of the show. She accused the actor of double standards regarding body shaming and personal comments.
Hayat participated in Bigg Boss 7 in 2013. She claimed Khan targeted her appearance during her time on the reality show.
"SALMAN is an hypocritical idiot. When I was in Bigg Boss he criticised my body and face.and told Gauahar (Khan) her body was good. Argh," Hayat wrote on social media.

Gauahar Khan eventually won that season. Actor Tanishaa Mukerji finished as the first runner-up. The cast that year also featured Ajaz Khan.

The controversy began after Khan addressed online critics during a recent Weekend Ka Vaar episode. The host removed his hat and shirt directly on stage. He challenged people who frequently mock his weight and physique.
Khan told the audience to take a close look at him if they enjoyed trolling. He then hit back at people who make personal comments about celebrities, asking them to look at themselves before judging others.
Khan questioned why people feel entitled to mock public figures. He noted that observing someone has gained or lost weight is normal. However, turning personal health and physical changes into public ridicule is unacceptable.

Khan did not mention specific names during his stage speech. However, the remarks came after social media users targeted Katrina Kaif. Kaif recently became a mother.
She faced online scrutiny over her looks after attending the Ambani family Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations in Mumbai.
Bigg Boss 20 officially began on September 6. The current contestant lineup includes Mary Kom, Aamrapali Dubey, and Uditi Singh.
