Last minute bookings are yet to open for the highly anticipated release of Mirzapur The Movie, which is set to hit theaters in less than 24 hours. Despite this, trade sources have revealed that show-sharing issues have erupted between the crime drama and the miraculous hit, Hanuman Ansh.
According to a trade source, who spoke exclusively to SeenTick, "Hanuman Ansh is on a historic run and refuses to slow down. The film got the benefit of a discounted Tuesday offer, which usually results in a significant drop in earnings for films that follow. However, Hanuman Ansh has bucked this trend, collecting more revenue on Wednesday than Monday.

This indicates that it will continue to perform well in the coming weekend as well." The source further stated, "The distributors of Mirzapur The Movie have asked for all shows, citing excellent advance bookings and potential success in single-screen cinemas. However, accommodating both films with sufficient shows has become a challenge due to their differing runtime durations – Mirzapur The Movie is over three hours long, while Hanuman Ansh clocks in at two hours and 30 minutes."
The issue of show-sharing has affected several theaters across Mumbai, including INOX Dadar, Star City, Plaza, Chitra, Regal, Gold Thane, MovieTime Suburbia, Mukta Santacruz, Kasturba, Gold Cinema Borivali, MovieTime Dahisar, Bharatmata, and PVR Le Reve. As of 10:00 am on September 3, advance booking has yet to open for Hanuman Ansh at these theaters.
However, three cinemas in Mumbai have already started selling tickets – MovieMax Andheri East will screen Mirzapur The Movie in all shows, while Maratha Mandir will play three shows of the film with Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge continuing in the matinee slot. Gold Cinema Santacruz is currently only selling evening show tickets for Tom & Cherry.
The situation is not unique to single-screen cinemas; 2-screen, 3-screen, and 4-screen theaters are also experiencing similar challenges. Advance booking has yet to commence for Hanuman Ansh at MovieTime Cubic Mall, Mukta A2 Cinemas JaiHind Lalbaug, Miraj Mulund, PVR Oeeon Ghatkopar, BMX Kharghar, Devgn Cinex Mulund, PVR Milap, MovieTime Malad, and Topiwala.
