Justice Sanjeev Prakash Sharma, the Acting Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court, has addressed the allegations against him for the first time since they surfaced earlier this week.

The Collegium's recommendation to replace him with Chhattisgarh High Court Judge Sanjay K Agarwal as the new Chief Justice of the Rajasthan HC has only added fuel to the fire, with Sharma denying all claims as "baseless" and "fact-less".

In a statement submitted to the Supreme Court Collegium on August 2, 10, and 17, Sharma refuted the allegations made
"I have complete faith in the Indian judicial system," Sharma said. "And soon, when the time is right and the CJI approves, I will personally present my case to the media."
Meanwhile, lawyers' associations in Rajasthan have been protesting outside Justice Sharma's court in Jaipur, with a section of lawyers engaging in sloganeering against him on August 31. In Jodhpur, both lawyers' associations announced a strike demanding his removal from office.
