Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke has warned of nationwide protests across India if demonstrations at Delhi's Jantar Mantar are barred. This comes after a standing order issued by Delhi Police Commissioner Anurag Kumar on October 11.
The order removed Jantar Mantar Road from the list of designated protest sites. Identifying Ramlila Maidan in Central Delhi, Burari Ground in North Delhi, and CBD Ground in East Delhi as alternative venues for large demonstrations.

he has a problem with the idea of people protesting and these are symptoms of a dictator. If they think the protest will pause if Jantar Mantar is denotified as a protest site, then the entire country will turn Jantar Mantar. Jantar Mantar is the spirit of every agitator, he said.
Leaders of the opposition party, the Civil Justice Party (CJP), Ashutosh Ranka and Sourav Das, were taken into custody on Tuesday at Jantar Mantar. There, they had attempted to reach despite a heavily fortified perimeter and visible security measures. Other party members, including Shinde, were also apprehended.
According to Dipke, the CJP members were carrying the national flag at the time of their detention. The fact that carrying the Tricolour was deemed illegal by the authorities raised questions about the actions of those in power.

As the legal battle unfolds, Dipke's party has announced plans to take the court to task over the detention of Ranka and Das, who were arrested for unfurling the national flag at Jantar Mantar. In the days that followed, Dipke shifted his focus to a rural outpost.
There, he met with reporters from a car parked in a Kundkar Pimpri village farm. The move was reportedly a strategic attempt to maintain open lines of communication with his legal team. Which he had been unable to reach from his home.
Earlier on Tuesday, Dipke posted on X: "Cockroaches with the Tiranga sneaked into Jantar Mantar early this morning before they were picked up by Delhi Police." Tagging Modi, he wrote: "You cannot denotify the resistance."
