  • Ohio State and coach Ryan Day cited as reason for the decision.
  • Portnoy claims he was excluded from stadium events due to Ohio State's involvement.

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy announced on social media that he and his company will no longer make appearances on Fox's "Big Noon Kickoff" pregame college football show, citing Ohio State and coach Ryan Day as the reason for the decision.

"Juice wasn't worth the squeeze and frankly I don't blame them. Huge dollars at stake and you have Cryin Ryan throwing temper tantrums and making threats every few days on something I said," Portnoy said in his post.

Portnoy started making appearances on the show last fall after Barstool and Fox Sports announced a partnership. "Big Noon Kickoff" also features host Rob Stone and analysts Brady Quinn, Matt Leinart, Mark Ingram and Chris “The Bear” Fallica.

Ohio State University has confirmed that its stadium will host a Barstool Sports event. With the main talent contingent consisting solely of the production team, excluding founder Dave Portnoy. This marks a departure from previous instances where Portnoy has utilized the venue as a platform for criticism.

The decision comes after Portnoy claimed that Ohio State had excluded him from stadium events due to the company's involvement. The Associated Press reported that Fox Sports had announced a seven-year. Multinetwork deal with the Big Ten, which also includes NBC and CBS, with Fox paying the most in the deal.

Ohio State referred all questions about Portnoy to Fox Sports, while The Athletic was the first to report on Fox Sports' decision.

Barstool still has a live two-hour weekday morning show on FS1. And the company's founder has expressed his commitment to continuing to produce high-quality content for its fans.

The decision to end Portnoy's appearances on "Big Noon Kickoff" is the latest development in a series of controversies surrounding the partnership between Barstool Sports and Fox Sports. The partnership has been marked by criticism from some quarters. With some accusing Fox of trying to silence Portnoy's criticism of the company.

As the college football season heats up, fans can expect to see more of the top-ranked teams and players on the airwaves. With the departure of Portnoy from "Big Noon Kickoff," the show will feature a new lineup of analysts and hosts.

For now, fans can look forward to more of the same high-quality content from Barstool Sports. This includes its live weekday morning show on FS1.
